I Lost Lots of Weight

I’m down to 118 lbs–that’s more than a 40 lb. loss!  I need to take the weight off my joints, plus in doing my DVD–I look better.  I’m trying to lose weight, but also seem to have lost a great  interest in eating.  I eat at the computer and sometimes forget I’m still in the middle of a meal.  Sometimes it seems like an overlong meal and a chore to continue eating.

I start with 1/4 cup each of frozen raspberries, pineapple, and blueberries with homemade yogurt from organic milk sweetened with stevia.  My second breakfast is about 3 hrs. later–an omelet combo of one real egg mixed with egg whites, Laughing cow cream cheese, and frozen grapes (I was freezing fresh cherries until they went out of season. Delicious!)

Lunch might be 1/4 cup nuts.  Some organic, some not.  I love the salt but need to watch it. When I do my own “salting” I use Himalayan Pink Salt.  It has extra nutritious minerals.  Maybe some fermented veggies for probiotic gut health.  I recently mixed up avacado, fermented garlic, & salsa for a dip for celery.

Dinner is homemade soup (veggie or butternut), salad (spring mix organic), one egg, black olives, carrots, celery, sprouts (easy to do–I do peas and sunflower seeds), dressing is straight balsamic vinegar, although I’m going to experiment with some other homemade dressing.  Maybe more nuts or veggies.  I’m not vegetarian, but close.

I also try to stop eating around 4 or 5pm.  I do avoid GMO  and processed foods.  He suggests intermittent fasting, stating that the body takes 8 hrs to digest a meal, after that it starts working on your fat content for food, so the longer between dinner and breakfast, the more fat you burn.

I count calories and record when, what, and time.  I find time helpful when I feel a hunger pang to look at what time I last ate and decide if I am really hungry or just pretend hungry.  I try to keep my calorie consumption between 1000 and 1200 per day.  I don’t eat after my last meal of the  day, which is about 4pm or so.  I do chew –a lot of gum–after that, which I know I must quit and find something better to keep my mouth and throat fresh.  I have tried putting peppermint tincture in water.  Better, but not quite as exciting as that initial gum chew.  Any suggestions here?  I try to drink lots of water.

I’m feeling good.

The most important ingredient to our survival, other than the air we breathe, is the water we drink. The discs in our spine are filled with water. When we become dehydrated, our discs shrink, thus collapsing our spine just a little. (2-3 inches in a lifetime)  The rest of our body is also dependent on clean water. Blood would flow nowhere, if not for water.

Up to 60 percent of the human body is water, the brain is composed of 70 percent water, and the lungs are nearly 90 percent water. We are a water-based species. Of the water content on earth, only 2.75% is fresh water, including 2.05% frozen in glaciers, 0.68% as groundwater and 0.011% of it as surface water in lakes and rivers.

We must protect our water supply and not let short term oil and gas greed poison our precious water supply. Spills in the Gulf and the ocean were terrible. Spills in our rare groundwater will prove devastating.
